Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 November 2026
These terms apply to better-scale (“the app”), a personal project operated by one individual for their own use (“the owner”).
1. Who may use the app
The app is not offered to the public. Access to the Google Health integration is limited to the owner and any Google accounts the owner has explicitly added as test users. If you are not one of them, you should not be using the app.
2. What the app does
The app receives readings from a Bluetooth smart scale, calculates body-composition estimates, records them in a Google Sheet, emails a confirmation, and writes weight and body-fat measurements to Google Health. How it handles data is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Not medical advice
Body-composition figures are estimates calculated from weight and body impedance. They are not medical measurements and must not be used to diagnose, treat or monitor any medical condition. Speak to a qualified health professional about health decisions.
4. No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Readings may be missing, delayed, duplicated or inaccurate, and the service may be unavailable at any time.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owner is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the app.
6. Third-party services
The app relies on third-party services (including Google and Cloudflare). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
7. Ending access
You can stop using the app at any time and revoke its access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The owner may suspend or end access at any time.
8. Changes
These terms may change; the date above will be updated.
